Because each saddle is custom built, we will need the following dimensions from the specific boat the saddle is being built for when you place your order.
Thwart Spacing (OC1)
Measure and record the distance (D) between the two existing thwarts that will hold the saddle in place. When taking this measurement, it is important to measure from the centerline of one thwart to the centerline of the other – some people refer to this as ‘bolt-to-bolt’. If this dimension is greater than about 29″, you will need to move and/or add a thwart to use an RSO saddle.
Boat Depth
Measure and record the height/depth (H) of the boat. It is important to measure from the bottom face of the thwarts to the inside surface of the hull, and to hold the ruler vertical. Take this dimension as close to the centerline of the boat as possible. If this dimension differs by more than 1/2″ at the two thwarts, please send both dimensions.
Thwart Size
Measure and record the thickness (TT) and width (TW) of the two existing thwarts that will hold the saddle in place. It is not necessary to measure thwart length or any dimensions from other thwarts in the boat that aren’t going to touch the saddle. If the two thwarts are different sizes from each other, please measure and record both, and specify which is the bow thwart and which is the stern thwart.
